HP's C7972A is a Linear Tape-Open 2(LTO-2) format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 609m which enables a native data storage capacity of 200GB that can be expanded up to 400GB when compressed. It features the use of a special safety feature and leader-capture mechanism to ensure that the tape leader meets its mark inside the drive accurately.
